Lua Sleep Sack Pattern Blog Tour / Lua Schlafsack Blogtour

Today I’m part of the Lua Sleep Sack Pattern Tour by StraightGrain. Some weeks ago An called for testers for her new pattern and as our little J was just in the right age for this pattern and about to grow out of his last sleep sack, I entered my name. I was super happy when I got an email from An telling me that I actually was one of the testers that she had chosen. This is my first “real” pattern from An that I’ve sewn. The pattern and instructions for this bubble dress were also from An, but from the former free pattern that she had on her blog before she started to get more serious with the whole pattern business and began to sell her patterns. I’ve followed her blog for a long time and I deeply admire her style. I was so close to buying the Tinny pattern and even more the Hanami pattern when she issued them. However, R doesn’t really like to wear dresses. She’s okay with wearing a nice one for a special occasion or a simple A-line jersey dress during summer, but normally she’ll just grab a tee and jeans – or if I let her choose freely even sweat pants. So although those patterns look so great and even though I’ve heard only the most enthusiastic comments about them, I didn’t allow myself to buy them. I own already far too many dress patterns that I’ll probably never get to use.

Spring Showers Jacket Pattern Tour

Today I'm part of the Spring Showers Jacket Pattern Tour. First I want to thank Heidi from Elegance and Elephants for asking me to participate. Mail from Heidi is always happy mail and that one was especially great :) Last year I sewed two other patterns of her: the Bubble Pocket Shorts (blogged here) and the Ruffle Top (as a pattern tester, before I started blogging) and they both are perfect digital patterns with great step by step pics and instructions. As I also love to be on a blog tour, I said "yes" right away and at the same time started to think about what jacket I wanted to make. The Spring Showers Jacket pattern is sized from 2/3  - 12 years and gender neutral. It has a longer back and a visor at the hood so it really is the perfect rain jacket pattern. Read till the end of the post to get a discount code!!!

Just a short blog post: R's easter dress that I sewed already during kids clothes week but didn't manage to post earlier. I made a Louisa dress following the pattern and instructions by Compagnie M. I won the pattern some months ago when Marte did a Blog Pattenr Tour. Finally I managed to sit down and sew it. I liked the look of the dress from the beginning. The big font pocket is super cool. This won't be the last Louisa dress, though for the next one I might do a triangle front pocket as Meg did here. Btw. the sleeves are exchangeable with those from Marte's Mara blouse (5 variations! find here my Mara blouse variation).

Out and About Dress / Mein erstes Maxikleid

Until now I always thought that maxi dresses are something that only tall, think women can wear. However, all the dresses that I saw during Sew Caroline's Blog Tour for her "Out and About Dress", were so amazing. Especially one thing that all bloggers repeated, seamed just to cool: "It's like wearing pjs and at the same time people think you look so great!". In the end it was this dress by Alida (from the blog Alida Makes) that made me buy the pattern. Alida also isn't super thin and as she told me when I sent her an email, she even is a little bit smaller than I am (I'm 1,67m). So I thought I'd just try it. If I didn't like, I could still just cut it shorter and wear the dress in knee-length.

Blogger meeting - KCW day 1 and 2 - PR&P / Bloggertreffen - KCW Tag 1 und 2 - PR&P

I have so many things to write about, but I can't find the time to do so.
One thing I want to at least mention shortly: Last saturday we had a first blogger meeting in the Allgäu, i.e. in the southern part of Germany where I live. It was so much fun. I knew two of the bloggers but the met the others for the first time. It was so easy. We talked and talked and talked. I'm so looking forward to meeting these girls the next time. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics - bad blogger. Guess I was to caught in the moment. Anyhow, some of the other girls did and they also found the time to write a seperate blog post about the meeting. Go check them out: Miri, Dodo, Carmen and Saskia, Miri, Petra.

What happens if you finish writing a post and then just forget to publish it? Right: Nothing. Therefore, this time I have a very belated weekend sewing post for you...
Oh, I have so wonderful things for you. For example those free patterns. I'll for sure sew some of them - what about you? And, definitely check out this post. It's a project that everybody with a sense for ethical and sustainable fashion should support!

Secret Squirrel's next stop

Do you all remember my Secret Squirrel post?
Well, today Secret Squirrel stops at the next blog. Go check it out. It's a wonderful blog with some really cool stuff on it. I've followed it already for quite some time and each and every post is plain fun!
And today's post really is the icing on the cake. I'm really happy that I chose that nice blogger as the next host: Who could sew something better from an "Astrid Lindgren" acorn than a blogger whose son is named after Jonatan Lionheart?
